The End of Week 3

Things are starting to get a little better.  Owen seems to be able to get slightly longer bouts of sleep in, especially overnight, which is wonderful.  However, I find that the more I sleep the more I NEED sleep, which is very bad.  I slept in bed 2 nights ago and it went well, but Mr. Cranky Pants was fussy yesterday, so I slept on the couch again last night to save Ryan from sleep deprivation.

Owen's taken to the formula pretty well.  He spits up after eating, but for the most part he was doing that with breast milk too, so no big deal there.

My co-worker asked me this past week if I was interested in any baby clothes - I said yes and we came home with 2 garbage bags full.  This means I don't have to do laundry every other day. Yay! :-)

Today marks 12 years of Ryan and I being together.  This year is much different than any other year, but it's good.  I'm just hoping he's done enough homework that we can spend as much time together as possible.  We may even order some dinner.  I -did- want sushi, but the weather is supposed to be horrible today, so it doesn't look like we'll be able to go anywhere.

The End of Week 2

It's been a fairly long 2 weeks since little Owen was born.  My c-section incision looks good and the pain is minimal.

Owen's sleeping habits are a bit challenging - he has his days and nights mixed up and whenever he falls asleep and I try to put him down so I can sleep, he wakes up and fusses.  But I'm adjusting the best I can.

After 2 weeks of constant challenges and setbacks, Ryan and I decided to put Owen on formula.  I'm not going to elaborate on the details, but he wasn't gaining weight even after his tongue tie was corrected, I literally couldn't pump anything and I was getting too mentally frustrated to keep going. I tried as hard as I could, so I'm comfortable with my decision and am much happier now.  Happy mom = happy baby.

On a side note, his umbilical cord fell off today!  He's got the cutest little belly button.  :-)
